Confident Cash

Never freeze at the register again

Mobile app with bite-sized, interactive cash exercises that actually make sense to your brain. Built exclusively for working adults with dyscalculia.

If you've ever felt that familiar jolt of panic when a customer hands you cash...

You're in the right place. You're not "bad at math." You're not lazy. You have dyscalculia, and you deserve tools that actually work for your brain. We built Confident Cash because we understand:

  • The freeze when a customer says "Oh wait, I have a penny" after you've already opened the drawer

  • The shame when customers roll their eyes or say "can't anyone do simple math anymore?"

  • The frustration of being amazing at your job in every way except this one thing

  • The dread of counting your till at shift's end, knowing one mistake could mean trouble

  • The exhaustion of using every ounce of mental energy just to make correct change

  • The avoidance of applying for good jobs because they involve handling cash, when you need work

CONFIDENT CASH

Imagine there's a better way

Confident Cash uses proven techniques to help you build confidence and competence with numbers, so you can handle cash transactions with ease.

  • The click when math finally makes sense because it's taught in a way that works for your brain

  • The freedom from memorizing math facts and the stress of one-by-one counting

  • The calm that comes from practicing the toughest parts of your job until they feel easy

  • The confidence of knowing exactly what to say and do, even when customers try to confuse you

  • The progress you feel by starting with skills you can master and building your confidence from day one

OUR MISSION

We believe everyone deserves to work with confidence and dignity, regardless of how their brain processes numbers

Modern teaching methods have proven that people with dyscalculia can develop strong practical math skills through the right kind of practice. While dyscalculia doesn’t go away, research shows that targeted exercises can build the specific abilities needed for everyday tasks—like handling cash.Confident Cash is building the first mobile app designed specifically for adults with dyscalculia who work in customer-facing roles. We’re creating a safe, judgment-free space where you can practice cash handling skills at your own pace, using methods that actually work for how your brain processes numbers. No one should avoid a job they’d love or feel shame at the register because traditional math education failed them. Our goal is to help you build the specific skills needed for real-world transactions. When you can work without fear, you can focus on what really matters: excelling at your job and building the career you want.

Our approach

We know that traditional math education often overlooks the unique needs of adults with dyscalculia. That’s why Confident Cash is different. We’ve adapted proven teaching methods from dyscalculia specialists to create an app that works the way your brain does.Concrete → Visual → Abstract
We start with virtual coins and bills you can see and move, then transition to visual representations, and finally to the numbers themselves. This proven progression helps your brain build lasting connections.
Pattern recognition over counting
Many people who struggle with math are stuck in the “counting trap”—solving every problem by counting on their fingers or in their head. Our app is designed to break that cycle. We teach you to see numbers as component parts (for example, seeing 7 as a 5 and a 2) and work with these chunks. This is a faster, more reliable, and less stressful way to handle calculations at the register.
Reasoning over memorization
Having to memorize hundreds of math facts is a barrier for many people. We work around memory challenges by focusing on a few key, easy-to-learn facts, like the pairs of numbers that make 10. Then, we teach you how to use these key facts to logically figure out other, more complex calculations. It’s about thinking like a mathematician, not like a calculator.
Learning through multiple senses
See the money, move it with your finger, hear the amounts. Using multiple senses together creates stronger, more reliable pathways in your brain.
Real work situations
Every exercise comes from actual cashier experiences. From making change from a $20 bill to handling the dreaded “Oh wait, I have a penny” moment—we teach exactly what you’ll face on the job.
Short sessions, lasting results
Practice a little bit each day rather than cramming. Our bite-sized lessons fit into your busy life and help move skills into long-term memory where they’ll be ready when you need them.
Your choice, your control
Follow our structured path from basic coins to complex transactions, or jump into practice mode to work on specific skills. Interactive games make learning feel less like studying and more like playing.
Words that work
Learn exactly what to say when you need a moment to think or when customers try to confuse you. Having these phrases ready takes the pressure off and keeps you professional.
Success from day one
Lessons start with exercises we know you can handle, building momentum and confidence before introducing new challenges. Every module follows a careful progression.
Beyond just math
We teach the whole job—not just counting. Learn why your brain “freezes,” how to handle difficult customers, and practical coping strategies for real work situations.
